The Cambridge Theological Federation seeks to appoint a Director of Taught Programmes for its undergraduate and postgraduate taught awards.   
This is a new and strategic post. 
Working closely with the Registrar and a dedicated and experienced support team in the Office of the Registrar, the Director of Taught Programmes will lead the strategic development of the Federation’s suite of taught programmes. 
She/he will be responsible for overseeing the academic quality of the taught programmes, and liaising with the Directors of Studies, Stream Leaders and Module Leaders/Paper Coordinators to ensure quality in teaching and learning. The Director may also contribute to marketing and social media strategy and implementation. She/he will ensure compliance with programme regulations and oversee assessment and moderation arrangements. The key responsibility of the post is to oversee quality assurance of teaching and learning within the taught programmes. There are no line management responsibilities associated with this role.
The Director of Taught Programmes will contribute to the development, promotion and delivery of the Federation’s Teaching and Learning Strategy.  She/he will collaborate on opportunities for the strategic development of the curriculum or other appropriate areas of activity and contribute to the development of such ideas. 
Reporting to the Chair of the Curriculum Committee, the Director of Taught Programmes will be a member of the Federation’s Management Committee.
The post is offered at 0.4FTE.  
The funds for this post are available initially for three years. 
The successful applicant will work from the Federation’s offices at The Bounds, Westminster College.
Additional teaching work may be available outside the terms of this contract at the Federation’s prevailing rates.
The Cambridge Theological Federation is an ecumenical partnership, with over 300 students studying a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate awards.  Founded in 1972 and originally a partnership of three colleges, with a focus on preparing students for ordained ministry, the Federation now draws students from a wide range of backgrounds. Together the nine institutions of the Federation (Anglican, Methodist, Orthodox, Roman Catholic, United Reformed, ecumenical, and inter-faith) provide a richly diverse inter-denominational and inter-faith setting for teaching, learning and research.
The Federation’s focus on adult learners means that learning is collaborative, student-centred and flexible. There are over 60 teaching staff, skilled in research and committed to the development of teaching and learning (including distance learning). The awards are administered by the Office of the Registrar, which is overseen by a Management Committee consisting of the principals of each of the member institutions. 
The Federation works with the University of Cambridge, Anglia Ruskin University and Durham University to deliver a range of degrees and courses in theology at all HE levels.
The post is available from 1st January, 2016
