YALE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES intends to make a tenure-track appointment
in the field of Ancient Christianity beginning July 1, 2016, at the rank of Assistant Professor. 
Applications are invited from scholars with research specialties in the history of Christianity 
in late antiquity, including its intersections with ancient Judaism and/or early Islam. Candidates 
with expertise in relevant methodological approaches (e.g. gender studies, archaeology, 
anthropology, etc.) and with strengths in relevant languages (esp. Greek and Syriac, but also
 Latin, Coptic, and Arabic) are highly encouraged to apply. An Affirmative Action/Equal
