Faculty Opening: PhD Director/New Testament or
Theology Professor
Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary invites applications and
nominations for a trustee elected position as Director of the Ph.D. Program and
Professor of New Testament or Theology.
Duties: The candidate will be responsible for directing the
Seminary's Ph.D. programs (Biblical Studies and Theology), developing and
supervising its annual budget, developing and scheduling classes, advising,
recruiting candidates and aiding in the promotion of the program, leading the
Ph.D. faculty, presenting and representing M.Th./Ph.D programs at various
venues as appropriate. The candidate will also teach Ph.D. seminars (New
Testament or Theology); supervise Th.M. theses and Ph.D. dissertations; teach
part time in the Master’s program; participate in general faculty
responsibilities; conduct scholarly research and writing; and participate in
local church involvements.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in New Testament or Theology from an accredited
institution is required. Candidates are expected to have demonstrated
competence in classroom instruction (preferably at the graduate level), a
record of scholarly and/or professional research, a commitment to collegiality,
and a willingness to participate in distance learning through the Internet and
other extension learning formats. The candidate must have demonstrated a
commitment to the Baptist tradition and must affirm the current confessional,
mission and vision statements of the Seminary. Applicants with proven ability
to work in a multi-cultural, urban environment are preferred.
Rank and salary: Determined by credentials and experience.
Starting date: August 1, 2015. Review of applications will begin

election anticipated April 2015.
